Should I just stop checking in? This doesn't really seem to be going anywhere at all.

While I can see a new template being important for the sake of marking a new beginning and symbolizing a rebirth of the forum, I don't see why that should be a cause to wait. In fact, it would probably be a good idea to have some recent content available when that template does come. It's not just conversations that I'm looking for, though - as a graphics community, I'd like to see some content involving images. Maybe some works that some of you have done recently, some projects that you're working on, even some photography. What I would really love to see, though, is some tutorials. The reason I began looking for a graphics community, and the reason I didn't immediately delete the e-mail from this forum when it appeared in my inbox, is because I have been away from Photoshop for many years. I haven't done any serious projects since around 2006 or so, but I'd love to get back into it. For that reason, I've been looking for an artistic community with which I can be involved, and from which I can learn. Unfortunately the artistic side of Proboards is nearly gone, so as much as I'd like to see this place run smoothly, I think it would also be a great thing for Proboards as a whole, but will present some challenges.
I know (although without understanding it fully) that people don't like to put new content into a forum during a transition period. I also know that the holidays may slow some things down, but I could really use a place like this - or maybe a place like that which I hope this will become.

I appreciate your comments there yilduz and while I agree 100% on what your saying I do hope aswell that members do start posting their tutorials and their graphics so we can get more involved on the graphics side. I would be grateful if you could stick around like Christian said, we are all trying to get this forum pumping some juice again and even tho a template is in the works, your right that we shouldnt be waiting for it but instead act on getting the community back on its feet. Hopefully thats what some of us will be doing over the next few weeks

I do agree with you absolutely, Yilduz. There's a lot of work with this forum, but I can assure you that the forum will be awesome. It's just not the template, it's not just the codes. It's the spirit, the marketing, the structure and the people and I am deeply sorry that you feel it takes too long. I will do my best to speed up some things! :-) At least the things I can do something about.

Hello, Yilduz. I have been away from the forum for the last few weeks due to final projects and exams at my university. I expect to have the transitional forum skin completed and installed by the end of the week.
You said you are interested in seeing some tutorials, so what specifically would you like to see? I would be happy to write a few Photoshop/other tutorials for this site, but it would be great to know what people are looking for first.

As for what you two have said about the community being involved, there doesn't really seem to be a community yet - just a few people trying to build one. Those few people need to give potential members a place to start. As was said, though, it's about the spirit. I loved SSD because of the feeling it had when you loaded that page. I knew what I was opening, I knew where it was going, I knew the kind of people and conversations I'd find inside, and I knew that I'd find interesting tutorials on graphics and coding. The spirit is absolutely vital. It is built by the members, but begins with the staff. Currently, this place doesn't seem to have a spirit. It needs one.
webmaren, there is really nothing specific I'd like to see in tutorials. It has been a few years since I've played with Photoshop, so I'd just like to get back into it. I've used it for a long time and I understand how the program works, so I'd like to see less about the functions of the software and more about the techniques used. I just want to start playing around with it again but I open it up and really can't think of where to go at that point, so I guess I'm just looking for general techniques and creating a "feel" for an image more than anything else.
